The coronavirus pandemic brought a major calamity to the whole world and we are now adjusting to isolation and self-quarantine at home. With most music events and venues postponed and being cancelled, many artists are putting on free shows online via Instagram, Youtube and Facebook to spread some musical joy amidst these dark times. After all, music is a proven mood-booster!

Hashtagged #TogetherAtHome, Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin organized a mini virtual concert via Instagram Live. Although the plan for the virtual concert was for the whole band to perform together, due to the restrictions of movements, the other band members were stuck in other respective countries, hence he had to do it solo. It was a touching 30-minute session where he reached out to his fans to check up on them and perform requested songs by the viewers.
Following suit fellow musician Chris Martin, John Legend put a “little at-home performance to help lift your spirits”. Robe on pants off style, Legend serenades the viewers for almost an hour singing by his piano with a special cameo from his wife Chrissy Teigen. An intimate home-concert that would definitely lift spirits of anyone watching.
“Free concert slash piano lessons from my heart to yours”. Pop superstar P!NK performed for her fans and added a free “piano lesson” in her Instagram Live in regards to the coronavirus pandemic.
Live from his warehouse, Urban performed for his fans through Instagram Live, while Nicole Kidman adorable enjoys her husband’s music in the background.
We know you miss the clubs and partying with your friends. Diplo hears you too and has since released a live stream on Youtube for you to dance along to at home with two new YouTube mixes: “A Very Lazer Sunday” and “Corona Sabbath”.
The world-renowned cellist, Yo-Yo Ma performed the Sarabande from Bach’s Cello Suite No.3 - a rich cello tune that makes you forget about the outside world even if it’s just for 3 minutes. He dedicates the song to the frontliners during this pandemic - the healthcare workers, thanking them for their services.
For those feeling angsty and would like to release some steam, Yungblud’s organized a Youtube concert featuring Bella Thorne, Machine Gun Kelly and Oliver Tree that will surely distract you and maybe even put a little smile on your face.
Katherine McPhee and hubby, David Foster will be putting on a daily concert via her Instagram Live at 5.30 pm (Pacific Timing) to entertain all those practising isolation and social distancing.
What’s a better way to spend quarantine days at home than dancing or rather watching your favourite stars dance Live from their homes? Although this is not an entertainment form, meditation is a way to relieve anxiety and nervousness during the coronavirus outbreak. Lizzo addresses this issue and offers a digital ointment: a 30-minute Meditation Session via Instagram Live. Flute playing, soothing background music and Lizzo’s powerful aura may “promote healing during this global crisis”.
